Global Chorus: Peace Edition

I am a Rotary Peace Fellow and social justice advocate and educator. I am currently in the process of creating and editing an anthology of reflections by Peacebuilders across the world. My intention is for the contributors to this book to be primarily RPFs and Rotarians working in Peace, along with some key Peacebuilders aligned with Rotary’s Peace area of focus.

Today we are witnessing violence, war, genocide, and the largest human migration our planet has ever seen. The crises facing our societies, our families, and our globe are challenging peacebuilders to speak up and speak collectively.

Ten years ago, my friend, journalist and climate activist Todd MacLean reached out to visionaries across the globe and brought their voices together in one incredible volume: Global Chorus: 365 Voices on the Future of the Planet, a groundbreaking collection of over 365 perspectives on our environmental future.

In the same way, Global Chorus: Peace Edition will be a collection of the voices of inspiring and visionary peacebuilders, with the goal of bringing the world together toward a path of understanding and compassion rather than conflict.

Contributors will offer a reflection on what we, as a collective community, must do to bring peace to our world. The line of questions that contributors are answering for this anthology is:

“What needs to happen for humanity to find a way to peace for our world, our communities, and our societies? What are the conditions necessary for a global peace? What actions can be taken – can we take – now to move this forward?”

At this time, I am reaching out to you with an invitation to join me in this Global peace initiative. Please let me know your thoughts on contributing to this anthology of Peace voices by contacting me at cardiganinstitute@gmail.com.

We believe that we all have a desire for Peace in our lives and in our world. The work of peacebuilding is a collective effort bringing the hearts and minds of each and every one of us together. What we need most now is to spark imaginations, ignite our passions, and create dialogue.

We need to raise our voices in a global chorus.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please respond to me at this email with any questions or comments.

Peace,

Susan Hartley, PhD
