The Rotary Peace Fellows community lost a beautiful soul and strong advocate on September 11, 2026. Carol and her husband Tim provided the Rotary Peace Fellowship Alumni Association with its first large grant, showing to us their trust and belief in a community of peace fellows. Below is a message shared from her husband, Tim:
Carol wanted no gathering or ceremony after her death but rather a quiet moment of reflection by those so inclined to appreciate moments of life she shared with them.
The greatest honor we can give to her life is to move on, living ours fully, and giving to others.
Carol said the most rewarding parts of her life have been long relationships with friends from around the world, taking care of cancer patients, mentoring candidates for Rotary Peace Fellowships, and making a different in communities where she lived.

Carol was one of those special people whose presence made a difference. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine care for others touched so many lives, and we feel very fortunate to have known her.
Carol will be deeply missed, but she will always hold a special place in our hearts.Let’s celebrate her with gratitude, with love, and with a smile for many wonderful memories she gave us.
Thirteen years ago Carol and Tim became a very important part of our lives. During a Rotary Institute, Bruce, Johrita, Carol and Tim joined us for a last minute dinner at our home. Carol’s warmth and smile made us feel like we’d known her for years. Along the way we enjoyed plays at OSF and even traveled together to London to see fourteen plays in twelve days. She never missed a step on those long walks down those London streets. We even held a Rotary Peace Dinner at our home. She laughed, that I called it the Peace Meal. The conversation always lifted when being around Carol. Her wit could cut through any facade and call you out with a smile. She is with us, always. Alan and Sandy
